Goals and objectives of the mobile app

We identified the main goals and objectives of the future application.

  • Improve the user experience: Provide the ability to quickly create a shipping request without having to visit a branch.
  • Streamline the shipping process: Automatically assign tracking numbers and provide a transparent system for processing requests.
  • Increase shipment visibility: Provide users with detailed information about the status of the package at every stage.
  • Improve customer experience: Inform customers quickly with instant notifications of changes in delivery status.

Development technologies:

The architecture of the application was represented by a client-server structure, the client part of which the user installs directly on the mobile device. In the process, the client communicates with the server-side of the application through web services (API).

What tools to develop the front-end part were decided to use: React Native, React + TypeScript, Node.js (express), Mongo DB, HTML5, Material Design, Human Interface Guidelines technology.

The application is designed for iOS and Android operating systems.

The functionality of the DDD application

For regular users

  • Users can quickly create a new shipment request with all the necessary information.
  • Track the status of the shipment at any stage of delivery.
  • View location updates as the shipment progresses.
  • Receive instant notifications of key delivery milestones such as package check-in, shipping, and delivery.
  • Once packages are delivered to Nova Post, a tracking number is automatically assigned for further processing.
  • Notify recipients of any changes in delivery status, ensuring transparent communication.

For couriers

  • Route planning: Interactive list of deliveries with priority and optimal route.
  • Quickly access package information: View order details, including recipient contact information, delivery type, and additional comments.
  • Check delivery status: Change the status of a package (picked up, in transit, delivered) directly from the
  • app.
  • Geolocation Integration: Track the courier’s current location to keep users updated.
  • Update Alerts: Receive alerts for urgent changes such as new orders or rescheduled deliveries.
  • Performance Monitoring: Tools to view completed deliveries, scheduled tasks, and performance statistics.

    The results of the project

    DDD Service Transport App has been successfully launched in marketplaces and has become a convenient tool for customers, simplifying the process of sending and tracking parcels between Ukraine and Switzerland. It improves the efficiency of managers, ensures transparency of the delivery process and strengthens users’ trust in the company.
